What is the San Diego Jewish Food Festival?

The San Diego Jewish Food Festival is a culinary and cultural journey featuring ethnic foods based on time-honored recipes from around the globe. In addition to countless food booths with goodies that Grandma 'Bubbie' might have made, the festival features a wide assortment of deli and bakery delights. Festival guests will also be feted with exciting live music, live food prep and cooking demonstrations with celebrity chefs from favorite local restaurants. The Festival is open to everyone. “Esn Epes!” Come eat something with us - try it you'll like it!

When and where will the San Diego Jewish Food Festival take place?

The event will be held on Sunday, May 3rd, 2020 from 11am to 5pm. The Jewish Food Festival will be held on the Temple Adat Shalom campus located at 15905 Pomerado Road in Poway 92064 across from Sprouts. Click here for map.

What will I find on the Festival grounds?

Everything you need is here at the festival. Enjoy tasty Jewish and Mediterranean food, check out how the professional chefs prepare your favorite dishes, enjoy live music and dancing throughout the afternoon, shop for unique gifts and services, and let the kids be entertained with interactive arts and crafts. The Festival is located on the campus of Temple Adat Shalom (15905 Pomerado Road, Poway) and activities occur both indoors and outdoors. A large tent will contain the live music and will provide comfortable shaded outdoor seating with tables so you can sit down and relax while you sample some delicious food your grandmother would have made.

Is there food for children?

Yes, kosher hot dogs and chips are available for kids to eat. Also available are potato knishes, potato latkes, salad, hummus with pita bread, and desserts.

Where do I park for the Festival?

Handicapped parking (with appropriate disabled placard or plate) is available directly on the festival grounds located at 15905 Pomerado Road in Poway 92064. A limited amount of additional parking is also available onsite. Additional free parking is located at the Gateway Medical Building (15725 Pomerado Rd) next to the festival and the Pomerado Professional Plaza (15706-15708 Pomerado Road)13010 Paseo Lucido, San Diego, CA 92128 . What kind of foods will be available at the Festival?

A myriad of ethnic recipes from Eastern Europe, the Mediterranean, Israel/Middle Eastern and popular delicatessen foods will be available for purchase at the Festival including, but not limited to: Blintzes, Chopped liver, Corned beef on rye, Falafel, Hamentaschen, Knishes, Kosher Flank Steak, Kosher Hot Dogs, Kugel, Latkes, Majadrah, Mandelbrot, Mediterranean salads, Pomegranate chicken, Rugalach, Strudel, Stuffed cabbage rolls

Will there be a kosher grill?

Yes. When we say there is something for everyone at this year's Jewish Food Festival, we're NOT kidding! This year we will have specially seasoned flank steak sandwiches and hot dogs...all made fresh and served hot off the kosher grill.

What is there to drink?

A variety of beverages will be available to accompany the delicious food. Check out our outdoor wine and beer garden featuring Israeli wines. Drinks include bottled water, diet and regular soda, Dr. Brown's Soda, and coffee.

The organizing committee has announced cooking and food preparation demonstrations with celebrity chefs. Each chef will demonstrate food preparation while explaining the nuances behind each creative twist on traditional Jewish delicacies. Is there an admission fee?

Pre-purchase of tickets before April 1, 2020 will give you a $5 discount ($25 meal ticket for $20). Admission is included with the purchase of a $25 Festival Meal Ticket. The ticket can be used to purchase a complete meal consisting of a main dish, 2 side dishes, a dessert, and a drink.
