Meet Deborah Scott: Celebrity Chef at Jewish Food Festival

Chef Deborah Scott Deborah Scott, Executive Chef, Partner of Cohn Restaurant Group, and the creative mind behind such fine dining experiences as Coasterra, Indigo Grill, C Level/Island Prime and Vintana restaurants, announced today she’ll be participating as a celebrity chef in the 6th Annual San Diego Jewish Food Festival.

As one of San Diego's most renowned celebrity chefs, Chef Scott is known for her diverse tastes and ability to create innovative dishes with an emphasis on presentation. Chef Scott first caught the eye of restaurateurs David and Lesley Cohn in in 1995 when her affinity for fusion landed her as the head of Kemo Sabe, the Pacific Rim infused concept formerly housed in Hillcrest.

"The San Diego Jewish Food Festival is a one-of-a-kind dining experience that delivers the mouth-watering aromas, flavors and sights sure to make you feel like you're back in Grandma's kitchen,” she says, adding "any event that delivers such comprehensive delight for all the senses demands the full attention of food lovers everywhere."

"And no...you DON'T have to be Jewish to love great Jewish food!"

"The festival has been building momentum since we started planning the first one back in 2010," notes event organizer Richard Stern. "Already this year hundreds of volunteers have spent thousands of hours working to ensure there's something at our festival to suit every desire. No delicacy has been overlooked and there's no culinary itch that won't get scratched."

In addition to celebrity chef demonstrations and authentic Jewish food, the festival is scheduled to have:

  • NY-style deli with a full kosher grill
  • Wine & beer garden
  • Children's activities
  • Craft vendors
  • Mediterranean dishes
  • Live entertainment
"We're talking about a serious food festival here!" says Stern.
